The official definition of net zero is “a target of completely negating the amount of greenhouse gases produced by human activity, to be achieved by reducing emissions and implementing methods of absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.”
Becoming net zero is a goal being set by organisations and governments worldwide to help preserve a livable planet. More than 70 countrises, 1,200 companies along with 1,000 cities, over 1,000 educational institutions and over 400 financial institutions have pledged immediate action to halve emissions by 2030 and have put in place science based targets in line with net zero.
Almost all of these targets do not include technology or digitalisation which is where we come in as there are thousands of technology-first or digital-first organisations that aren’t measuring potentially tons of emissions their organisation is responsible for.
